The PLA 2022 Conference will reflect the innovation, creativity, adaptability, and diversity we’ve seen emerge from the public library field since the pandemic. The conference offers over 100 educational sessions, a dynamic slate of speakers, hundreds of vendors featuring the latest in library technology and solutions, and plenty of opportunities to explore the weirdness of Portland. Don’t miss this chance for public library professionals like yourself to reconnect with one another, recreate the services you provide, and revitalize the passion for the work you do every day.

Appropriate Conduct

All participants are expected to observe the rules and behaviors described in the Statement of Appropriate Conduct in all conference venues, including online venues, and conference social events.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

The Public Library Association is working closely with the Oregon Convention Center to follow state and local safety measures and provide the safest environment for conference attendees. To adhere to the current COVID-19 safety measures, all PLA 2022 participants will be required to wear a mask and show either proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR or Rapid test result within 72 hours of the first day of the event. Participants will also be required to sign a COVID-19 waiver during the registration process.

For more information, please visit our COVID-19 Information page, which will be updated regularly.

Continuing Education Credits

Full-conference registrants have the opportunity to attend educational programming during eleven (11) hours of scheduled programs (time slots reserved for educational programming only; this does not include preconferences, receptions, social events, opening/closing or other general sessions). However, PLA does not document or verify the hours that attendees spend in educational sessions, and as a result is not able to offer CEUs or certificates of completion for general PLA Conference attendance. We do provide certificates of completion for our preconferences, which require separate registration and payment.
