Too many… Burger Stevens (food cart at Skidmore) for a brilliant smashed cheeseburger and fries; Gravy (957 N. Mississippi Ave., Portland) for biscuits and gravy; Lovely's Fifty-Fifty (4039 N. Mississippi Ave., Portland) for pizza; Mexican at Por Que No? (3524 North Mississippi Ave., Portland); Interurban (4057 N. Mississippi Ave., Portland) for brunch/cocktails (and patio); Quaintrelle (2032 Southeast Clinton St., Portland).

My favorite place to drink (coffee, juice, alcohol, etc.):

The Fresh Pot (4001 N Mississippi Ave., Portland) for coffee; Interurban, Radar (3951 N Mississippi Ave., Portland) or the bar at Quaintrelle for cocktails; Fly Awake Tea House (909 N Beech St., Portland).

My favorite place to shop:

Bridge City Comics (3725 N. Mississippi Ave., Portland) for our 16-year-old; Paxton Gate (4204 N. Mississippi Ave., Portland) for weird stuff, fossils, taxidermy; Sunlan Lighting (3901 N. Mississippi Ave., Portland): who knew there could be so many kinds of light bulbs?

The Rebuilding Center (3625 North Mississippi Ave., Portland). You won't know until you step into RC how you're going to build the project you have in mind—steel pipes and glass insulators for hanging your string lights, for example.
