How To Do Virtual

The 41st International Conference on Jewish Genealogy will open on August 1, 2021. It is our second all-virtual conference.

After a year of meeting in little boxes, this year’s Conference will have a much different feel to it. All attendees will enter and walk into the very busy lobby, almost like the lobby of a hotel. Well, at least it’s similar—you will enter rooms, see exhibitors, make appointments, and view sessions. And once the Conference begins, look for the Game Room—there are prizes to be won!

On the website, there are tools to check the internet speed and browser on your computer. Be sure to run these utilities as soon as you can. See the “System Requirements” item under the PROGRAM tab. If you need help, contact

This YouTube video—created by Ron Arons, eShow Training Manager and All Around Helper—gives a basic tour, without sound, of the virtual environment you will be entering in a few days.

To give you even more information, study the Attendee Guide (click HERE or access it on the Conference website under the FAQ/INFO tab). This colorful and detailed booklet covers all aspects of our Virtual Conference with step-by-step directions. It has a vast quantity of information, so take it bit by bit and don’t be overwhelmed. Once you start clicking in the live conference, things will make sense. All levels of Attendees have access to the Expo Hall and the Chat-Discussion Rooms.

Be on the lookout for an email this Friday. It will give you the official link into the Virtual Conference. You will need the email address and password you used to register for the Conference. We’ll include one more reminder for you.

Plan ahead and make the most of the next few days deciding which sessions you will go to live and which ones you want to look at in the On-Demand library. Download the mobile app and create your agenda.

See you all online in a few days!
