  • CONFERENCE AND SESSION EVALUATIONS (6 September 2020):
There are two different Evaluation pages, one asking you to give your opinion about the Conference in general and another asking about individual sessions and speakers. If a session had more than one speaker, each speaker is evaluated separately in no particular order.

In the Attendee Center menu after you have logged in, select the CONFERENCE EVALUATION and then click on the grey START button. The system will identify you and ask several required questions. Once submitted, the next page confirms you have completed the survey.

In the Attendee Center menu after you have logged in, select the SESSION & SPEAKER EVALUATIONS, and a list of all the live recorded and on-demand sessions will be on the page. Once you have completed an evaluation, the STATUS EVAL column will note the date. There are five questions about the session and five questions concerning the speaker.

  • ON-DEMAND WEBINAR ENTRANCE PAGE (10 August 2020):
To access the On-Demand (pre-recorded) programs, follow the instructions below, but select the ON-DEMAND WEBINAR ENTRANCE page. The recordings of the live programs are on the LIVE WEBINAR ENTRANCE page.

  • LIVE WEBINAR ENTRANCE PAGE (9 August 2020):
The first of two webinar entrance pages, the LIVE WEBINAR ENTRANCE page, is now open in the Attendee Service Center. These are the pages that attendees will use to access the Conference programs. We welcome you to start exploring now. See the instructions on the page and note, in particular, the “Join Discussion” buttons for each program. These take you to a chat room where you can begin right now to pose questions and carry out discussions on the topic with other attendees. Also note that it is no longer necessary to select programs—live or on-demand—in advance. The entrance pages will include all programs that you are entitled to attend based on your registration type (only films require advance registration). For additional instructions, go to instructions.iajgs2020.org.

  • Full Conference Program Published (28 July 2020): We are delighted to present the first iteration of the full conference program. For those of you who have been waiting to register until you can read more about the offerings, this announcement is for you. Under the PROGRAM tab, click on PROGRAM AND SCHEDULE. You will first find the listing of On-Demand sessions. Next come the Live Sessions by scheduled date and time, including the Free Limited Access sessions.

You will also notice the films that are available for viewing during specified dates during the conference. Finally, but significantly, you will be able to read descriptions of the speakers and their presentations and can already download handouts for many of the programs.

There is more to come, and the programmers are still formatting this page, but we wanted to update you now! If you have not already registered, mouse over the REGISTRATION tab. Read the OVERVIEW page and then click on NEW REGISTRATION. The full conference fare is $325, and there free access to some sessions. Please thank those who are paying for the conference, because it is subsidizing those free sessions.

  • Free Access to Many Programs (17 July 2020): There is now a “Free Limited Access” option on the Registration Form that allows you to attend at no cost the IAJGS Annual Meeting & Awards, the IAJGS Leadership Seminars, the JewishGen Annual Meeting, and—best of all—the Special Interest Group (SIG) and Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) meetings. You must register and tell us who you are (that keeps us all safe). It also gives you the amazing opportunity to share with other conference attendees up to 8 surnames and 8 ancestral towns in our conference Family Finder. (And you can always upgrade to “full conference attendee” later if you wish.)

  • Registration for Virtual Conference is Now Open (20 June 2020): Be sure to read the Registration Overview before starting the registration process.

  • Announcement of Virtual Conference (14 June 2020): The IAJGS 2020 Conference on Jewish Genealogy will be held from Monday, 10 August, through Thursday, 13 August, on a virtual platform. Brainstorming and Connectivity will be the focus of four days of live, streamed sessions on broad topics presented as plenary sessions, panels, and webinars. Meeting rooms will be provided for Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and Birds-of-a-Feather (BOFs) to help gather our world-wide audience. The Pre‑Recorded Video Archive available to conference registrants for up to 60 days after the virtual conference will offer an even wider range of specialized presentations beyond the scheduled, live sessions. Early Bird Registration begins on Father’s Day, Sunday, 21 June 2020.

  • Coronavirus Update (22 May 2020): The IAJGS has now fully refunded all fees paid by conference registrants for the now cancelled “in-person” 2020 San Diego conference. We will soon announce the framework of our “IAJGS 2020 Virtual Conference on Jewish Genealogy” to occur Monday–Thursday, August 10–13, 2020. Any remaining hotel cancellations should be handled directly with the hotel. Stay Safe!

  • Coronavirus Update (1 May 2020): Based on current events relating to COVID-19, the IAJGS has notified the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina that our conference scheduled for August 9-14, 2020 at that hotel cannot proceed. Full refunds will be made within the next two weeks to anyone who has already registered for the conference. Hotel cancellations should be handled directly with the hotel. We are currently exploring options for a virtual conference and details concerning that virtual conference will be released as they become available.

  • Coronavirus Update (24 April 2020): The IAJGS Board and the Conference organizers have been continuously monitoring information about the novel coronavirus. The health and safety of all our members and constituents are our paramount, indeed our only, concern. We are currently assessing all of our options and are looking into the possibility of some sort of virtual conference. We also want to assure everyone that in the event the in-person conference cannot be held, all registration fees will be refunded. We will post additional updates as they become available.

  • Coronavirus Update (17 March 2020): The Conference organizers, like most everyone, are continuously monitoring the information about the novel coronovirus. With the conference still five months away, planning is continuing with the expectation that the Conference will take place as scheduled.
