The conference hotel is the Hilton Cleveland Downtown, the tallest and largest in the city—and very new (it opened in 2016). For general information about the hotel (but not for reservations), visit the hotel’s main website here.

When our room block at the Conference hotel reached capacity several times, the Hilton added more rooms to the block. However, the hotel is now fully booked on some nights during the conference. Therefore, we are beginning to announce overflow hotels. See the Overflow Hotels item under the HOTEL/TRAVEL tab.

Rooms in our block at the Hilton will probably open up at a later date when some people holding reservations join with a roommate or decide not to attend the conference and cancel their reservation. We advise checking back with the Hilton from time to time to see if a room in the conference block has become available.

Room Rates & Amenities

Special rates are available for conference attendees. Rooms with one king bed or two queen beds are available, each for $184 per night plus taxes.

All rooms reserved under the conference rate will have complementary Internet access. Breakfast is not included (and meals purchased in hotel restaurants are not covered by the meal voucher). All rooms include a mini-fridge and small safe.

Attendees with disabilities who require accommodation with regard to their hotel rooms should communicate their needs directly to the hotel at the time they reserve their room.

Time Period

The special rate covers arrivals as early as Wednesday, July 24, 2019, and departures as late as Sunday, August 4, 2019.

Please note that as the conference room block fills up, the hotel may no longer offer rooms at the conference rate for some of the dates.

Cut-Off Date

The cut-off date for reserving rooms in our room block is 5:00 pm EDT on July 8, 2019. After the cut-off date, or after all the rooms in our block have been reserved, whichever comes first, it will be at the hotel’s discretion whether to accept additional reservations, which may be at the prevailing rates (not the special conference rate).

The hotel has created a Web portal for reserving rooms online at the special conference rate. When you click HERE, or go to hotel.iajgs2019.org, the special reservation site will open in another window or tab.

If you are reserving a room with two queen beds because you plan to find a roommate, you can book the room initially for single occupancy and then change the reservation later to add the additional person. [Note: for assistance in finding a roommate, write to roommates@iajgs2019.org.]

The special site will not allow you to book for dates outside the range for our room block. If you need a room outside that range, you will have to make your reservation by phone (see below). You may also want to reserve by phone if you have critical special requests.

We have been told that you cannot provide your Hilton Honors number through the online reservation portal. You will have to telephone the hotel to add that information.

To reserve a room by phone, call the hotel at 216-413-5000. Tell the reservations agent that you are with the group "IAJGS".

Note About Blocked Caller ID: We have been told that the conference hotel phone system will not accept calls from phones whose Caller ID is blocked. (You will get the following message: “The party you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time.”) You will have to temporarily unblock your Caller ID (there is probably a prefix code you can enter before placing the call), or you can call the general Hilton toll-free reservation number (800-774-1500).

The hotel has an underground garage and offers either self-parking or valet service. The per-day costs are $28 and $36, respectively.

We found a website at FindParking.iajgs2019.org that may be helpful in locating less expensive parking facilities. You can also try using parking services such as ParkingPanda or SpotHero.
