New Products Rollout Tour fee per product: $150 ATSSA members/$1,000 non-members.

What are ATSSA’s Innovation Awards?

ATSSA’s Innovation Award program recognizes one winner and up to three honorable mentions for innovative products. Entrants into the ATSSA NPRO Tour will be evaluated using the scoring system, which is one part of the process to determine the top products.

The first 15 NPRO entrants that elect to enter and are accepted into the NPRO Tour will have their product and informational video reviewed by a panel of department of transportation (DOT) judges who will assess innovation, safety features and newness to the market of their product, as per the scoring criteria shown in the scoring criteria table below. From this initial review, the judges will select a group of finalists whom they will chat with at the appropriate booth during the Convention & Traffic Expo.

Prior to ATSSA’s Annual Convention & Traffic Expo, the ATSSA Innovation & Technical Services Team will coordinate with finalists to arrange a booth visit for judges to ask questions to aid in selecting the Innovation Award winner and Honorable Mentions. The selected finalists will have 2 to 3 minutes each to introduce their product and answer questions from the judges.

To be considered for an ATSSA Innovation Award or an Honorable Mention, the entered product must:

  • Be entered in the New Products Rollout Tour and
  • Be among the first 15 entries selected for the NPRO Tour

NEW  Awardees will receive extra exposure by presenting their product at an Innovation Award micro session held on the Traffic Expo floor, in addition to having their informational video played during this session. The winner and honorable mention awardees may receive additional exposure in ATSSA communications such as social media and a press release.

No additional cost.
