Modernizing Teen Driver Work Zone Safety With distraction, speeding crashes and fatalities rising across the country, it’s time to rethink teenage driver safety. In a concerted effort with ATSSA, contractors and local agencies, the Oklahoma DOT and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority helped launch Work Zone Safe to modernize the state’s approach to educating and engaging teen drivers on work zone safety. In the first year of its adoption, over twelve thousand Oklahoma teen drivers representing more than 250 high schools were educated on work zone safety for the first time. Discover the benefits of Work Zone Safe, an award-winning program that helps teens learn the importance of work zone safety through hands-on and online events while supporting, recognizing, and rewarding them for safe driving.
