Welcome!

Call for Proposals
American Traffic Safety Services Association
51st Annual Convention & Traffic Expo
January 29 - February 2, 2021 • San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA
Submission Deadline: July 9, 2020

ATSSA’s 51st Annual Convention & Traffic Expo is the premier event for roadway infrastructure safety professionals and transportation officials from across the U.S. and around the globe. The Convention connects business leaders, government officials, subcontractors, manufacturers, corporate roadway department personnel, and all disciplines involved in nearly every aspect of roadway infrastructure safety.

Each year, our community learns, networks, and discovers the latest industry best practices to improve roadway infrastructure safety. The Convention & Traffic Expo is viewed as a must-attend conference to stay current on trends and industry advancements, to access new products and technologies, and to stay abreast of legislative priorities and regulatory changes.

This meeting of the minds typically brings together roughly 3,700 roadway infrastructure safety professionals, and more than 200 exhibiting companies - all seeking to advance their own professional development and separate themselves from the competition.

The 2021 event is expected to be much different than in years past and will include a virtual component for the first time. ATSSA invites you to contribute by submitting an education session proposal that reflects the best thinking in the field, informed by theory and research, and proven best practices. While details remain uncertain, we are particularly interested in sessions that could be conducted fully online (virtually) and/or pre-recorded, as well as sessions that address issues ATSSA members are facing related to the pandemic

We welcome proposals that:

  • Address the importance of roadway infrastructure safety from a strategic perspective
  • Explore the role of technological innovations in the industry
  • Speak to new regulations and real-time issues
  • Provide a preview of industry trends for which to prepare
  • Identify good practices and cost-effective safety solutions
  • Explore essential business practices such as operations, strategic planning, legal concerns, media and crisis training, supervisory and leadership skills, new contract management, hiring and retaining qualified employees, etc.
  • Identify lessons learned while operating during a pandemic
