Program Schedule

The panel presentation and discussion will focus on the Impact of Healthcare Algorithms on Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health and Healthcare. The panel will discuss the early results of an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Request for Information (RFI) and evidence review. Panelists will discuss elements of this critical issue including current efforts to identify and mitigate bias, potential solutions including those from policy makers, the importance of data and data standards, the influence of machine learning and artificial intelligence as part of algorithm development, and the importance of clinician and patient engagement in achieving equity. Panelists provide diverse expertise and experiences including perspectives from clinicians, healthcare system leaders, algorithm developers, and policymakers.
