Director of Education, Bullock Texas State History Museum
Kate Betz oversees the development of programs for adults, families, educators and students and manages the museum's evaluation efforts and social media channels. Ms. Betz's programs have at their core the desire to share unique experiences with a diversity of people in an environment that encourages life-long learning and development. Prior to coming to the Bullock in 2009, Ms. Betz managed public programming at The Farmers’ Museum and the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, New York.

María del Carmen Barrios
Curatorial Assistant, Cantor Arts Canter at Stanford University
María del Carmen Barrios-Giordano serves as Curatorial Assistant to the Art++ Initiative at Cantor Arts Center, Stanford University’s art museum. She has a BA in History and International Relations, and has worked in the visual and performing arts sector as both an administrator and artisan.
Exhibits and Design Manager, Beaty Biodiversity Museum
Luc Desmarais is the Exhibits and Design Manager at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. For nearly ten years, Luc has led a varied career in exhibit development and collections management, which included notable stints at the University of BC's Museum of Anthropology, the Vancouver Art Gallery, and the North Vancouver Museum. A consummate doer and problem solver, Luc is passionate about improving engagement and the visitor experience.
Learning Content Producer, Royal Ontario Museum
Sarah has been an educator at the Royal Ontario Museum since 2001. As Learning Content Producer, Sarah is part of an integrated team working to explore new ways of using digital technologies to enrich museum engagement. She enjoys exploring digital storytelling platforms across a variety of media. Sarah holds an Honours Science degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Education from York University, specializing in Science and Teaching for Diversity & Social Justice.
Web & Interactive Media Producer, Balboa Park Online Collaborative
Julia Falkowski is the Web & Interactive Media Producer at San Diego’s Balboa Park Online Collaborative. She is also the Communications Chair of San Diego Emerging Museum Professionals. Julia has an MA in Museum Studies from The George Washington University. While her focus was in Museum Management and Administration, she developed an interest in museum technology through course work and membership in the Museum Studies Computer Club.
Digital Editorial Assistant, National Museum of Women in the Arts
Emily Haight supports the Digital Engagement and Publications departments in her hybrid position. With previous experience in Museum Education and Development, she knows the importance of online engagement and looks for creative ways to share the museum’s mission with a broader digital audience. As the museum’s cross-departmental Social Media Team Manager, she leads strategy meetings for social media campaigns and works to create, aggregate, and share content across platforms.
Digital Experience Manager, Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Michelle Herman is Manager of Digital Experience at the Smithsonian Archives of American Art and a practicing new media and interdisciplinary artist. In both roles, Michelle focuses on creating engaging user experiences in the physical and digital worlds. With over 7 years’ experience in the web, Michelle has been the digital lead, designer, UX developer, videographer, and producer of arts and culture websites and projects. She has lead the redesign, content strategy, and CMS migration of multiple websites working with systems such as Drupal and Sitecore. Previous organizations include The Kennedy Center and The Phillips Collection.
Distance Learning Educator, North Carolina Museum of Art
Emily Kotecki is the North Carolina Museum of Art's Distance Learning Educator. She is developing a diverse portfolio of blended, flipped, and videoconference distance learning programs, for students and teachers. Prior to her career in museum education, Emily worked as a multimedia web producer at The Washington Post. Emily holds a masters in Museum Education and a bachelors in Journalism.
MA Student, Public Humanities, Brown University
Andrea Ledesma is an MA student in the Public Humanities program at Brown University. She explores the relationship between museums, historical narratives, and new media and works as the program's first Teaching with Technology Innovation fellow. A public historian, graphic designer, and digital devotee, she's fascinated by the way technology is reinventing museums and looks to pursue a career in exhibition development with an emphasis on multimedia.
Digital Learning Producer, Science Museum (UK)
I'm a digital content producer and editor with a passion for developing informal learning experiences for younger audiences. I've worked on award-winning projects with clients including Tate, Channel 4 Education, BBC, NHS and Historic Royal Palaces. I was previously part of the Learning team at the British Museum and in my current role as Digital Learning Producer at the Science Museum Group I am helping to reshape our online learning offer for schools and families.
Founder & Director, Cultural Heritage Imaging
Carla Schroer is co-founder and Director of Cultural Heritage Imaging (CHI), a nonprofit corporation dedicated to advancing the state of the art in digital capture and documentation of the world’s cultural, historic, and artistic treasures. Carla leads the training and software development programs, while also working on field documentation projects using Reflectance Transformation Imaging and photogrammetry. She spent 20 years in the commercial software industry directing a range of projects including Sun Microsystems’ Java technology.
Associate Coordinator for Media Production and Online Features, Digital Department, The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Aliza Sena is Associate Coordinator for Media Production and Online Features at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. In the Museum’s Digital Department, she has managed digital learning projects, and helped to produce the website and video series, #MetKids, Aliza graduated from Brandeis University in 2011 with a degree in Art History and Business, and has taken additional courses in User Experience Design and Front End Web Development. She lives in Queens, NY.
Digital Engagement Specialist, Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture
Lanae Spruce is currently a digital engagement specialist at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Coordinator of Museum Interpretation, High Museum of Art, Atlanta
As Coordinator of Museum Interpretation at the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, Ginia strives to create tools that tell compelling stories, encourage close looking, and foster an inclusive environment. She is particularly interested in using cutting edge digital technology to deliver content based on the diverse needs and desires of visitors. Ginia is a graduate of Columbia University and the Williams College Graduate Program in the History of Art.
Principal Project Officer, Governance and Reporting, Queensland Art Gallery / Gallery of Modern Art
Rosemary is a PhD Candidate at the University of Queensland and part of the Australia Research Council funded project “Is Architecture Art? A history of categories, concepts and recent practices.” In parallel, she works on strategy and governance at the Queensland Art Gallery / Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, Australia. Rosemary’s qualifications include a Masters of Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute in London, a Certificate of Applied Finance from Kaplan Australia and a Bachelor of Music Performance from the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. For her PhD, Rosemary is researching how architecture has historically been classified by art museums and cultural policy, in order to better understand emerging institutional structures.
