PN Data Services: Making It Happen

Email
Venue: ICC
Room: 104-106

The explosion of digital research data has created exciting opportunities for librarians to engage with faculty, staff, and students in their research processes. Advances in computing, sensor technologies, and communications are challenging researchers’ abilities to find, manage, utilize, visualize, and store data. Three librarians from public Universities in the Midwest will describe practical approaches for developing new services, collaborations, and content to meet these needs. This will include real-world examples of integrating data services into information literacy instruction, repository services, data management plan consulting, data reference, and campus outreach. We will also pose relevant issues for group discussion. Join us for a lively discussion of the following questions: How are e-science and data preservation gaining traction with your library and at your university? What collaborations and new services are being put into place? How are they being defined, offered, and supported? How are existing library services and practices changing?
